NHL.com/NHL Draft: Leafs acquire winger Nazim Kadri and a 2018 seventh-round pick from New York in exchange for an 2018 seventh round pick, according to an NHL source.
Nazem, who turns 23 in September, is the top prospect in this year’s draft and could become an impact player for the Leafs if he makes the team this season.
Kadri is one of five Leafs to be acquired by the Devils in the deal, and the Devils are hoping to land a player with their first-round picks.
They’ll get Kadri from the Devils, who drafted him with the 29th overall pick in last year’s NHL Draft.
The Devils signed Kadri to a one-year contract last spring, but they haven’t made a trade yet.
He has three goals and five assists in six games with the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League.
The Leafs have also sent center Tyler Bozak and defenseman Michael Grabner to the New York Islanders for forward Mikhail Grabovski, forward Nikolai Kulemin and defenseman Adam Larsson.
The Islanders sent Grabovskis and Kulemins to the Devils this season, while the Islanders got Kulemens and Grabovs.
Grabovksi, a fifth-round draft pick in 2016, had five goals and seven assists in seven games with Buffalo last season.

The 31-year old Larsson has three points (1G, 3A) in 10 games with Columbus this season and is in the final year of his entry-level contract.
He’s a third-year veteran.
New Jersey is expected to be in the market for a defenseman to pair with Kulemnis, Larsson and Grabova.
It’s expected that they’ll be looking for a replacement for Martin.
The Devils have also moved defenseman Alexei Kuznetsov to the Toronto Marlies.
The 24-year and 23-year olds have two goals and six assists in four games with Toronto this season but the Devils will use Kuznikov in the second unit and get his salary-cap relief.
